Birgitta Thomsen. Personal Yoga Instructor

Birgitta took her first breath in 1977 and at the age of 20 she spent several years in India learning yoga and realizing the importance of the breath she had been given.
After exploring India and living in several ashrams with different methods, she returned to Denmark where she was challenged by a serious back injury leaving her with no choice but to give up all physical exercise for more than a year.

After physiotherapy, she slowly got back on her yoga mat only to discover that nothing was like before. Her feet suddenly seemed out of reach and every single muscle was complaining while doing the postures but as she says
"Everything happens for a reason and thanks to this accident I now have a much deeper understanding of the techniques I learned in India and the magic of breathing. Every time I stand in front of a person who struggles with breathing and the postures I know how they feel because I've been there myself."

After years of practice and patience she can finally enjoy being an athlete again. She empowers all those who come to yoga to live it as fully and as happily as she does, whatever their level of fitness or experience.
She also completed yoga teachers training courses at the Sivananda Forest Academy in France and with David Swenson in Scotland. She is studying anatomy and is planning a new trip to India this coming winter, to the source of ashtanga yoga in Mysore.

Rohini means "shining star" in Sanskrit.
